How to edit the user profile?
Profile can be edited by clicking on the user name located on the top-right hand side of the screen. By doing so the personal section is open. By clicking on “Profile” and then “Edit Profile” users can edit their profile.
If you see a red alert starting “You have not fully updated your profile” it means that some relevant professional info are missing. You are invited to fill them in order to be able to share interests with your colleagues including possible professional opportunities.
On the “Edit Profile” page there are three tabs to manage respectively personal, professional and availabilities information.

Why Alumni should upload a CV?
The user profile is a closed-answer form which facilitates the interaction of the Alumni also through advanced functionalities (statistics, world map, profile search); furthermore it is easy to update.
In order to provide detailed information about themselves, Alumni are invited to upload (and keep up-to-date) a CV in doc, rtf or pdf format.

What is a forum-based page?
It’s a page built on a forum technology which allows all authorised users to contribute to the site. Hereafter the full list of forum-based pages, if not otherwise stated they are open to contribution to all E.MAlumni registered to the website:

How and where can Alumni and other users post content in the E.MAlumni website?
The E.MAlumni website is mainly built by the contributions of its registered users. To know where registered users can post please refer to the question “What is a forum-based page?” above. To post content users can either reply to an existing post or start a new one. For more information please view the following screen cast:

How to attach a video in a post?
You can embed videos from youtube (provided that they are not restricted). The easiest way to do is to access the forum where the video has to be embedded. Edit a new post or reply to an existing one and type the string ”
“. The video will be enclosed is in the post, to publish it just click on “Post topic”.

How to attach a document and picture in a post?
Open the forum where the document (picture, doc, rtf, pdf…) has to be attached. Edit a new post or reply to an existing one and use the add media button to locate the file (in the pc in use, online or in the server library). Change its properties as needed and click on “insert into post”. The document will be enclosed in the post, to publish it just click on “Post topic”.

Why is there a link sharing and why is it useful?
Sharing information is a key features that can be enhanced by a well structured and organised repository of web links. This archive can be enriched and used by everyone. It is therefore important to clearly categorise web link with appropriate keywords and add short and precise comments to help others to make the best use of the link and its information.
