The E.MAlumni Association identifies the Alumni of the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA). Its members belong to one of the E.MA academic year from 1997-1998 up to now.
The European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA) is organised by the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) based in Venice, Italy; its main donor is the European Union. The E.MA first edition dates back to 1997-1998. It is an intensive one-year advanced master programme to educate 90 professionals in the field of human rights and democratisation. The yearly programme requires the students to spend the first semester at EIUC in Venice and the second semester in one of the 41 European partner universities offering courses in Human Rights and Democratisation. E.MA is an inter-disciplinary Master that reflects the indivisible links between human rights, democracy, peace and development. The E.MA Graduates work in various organisations, institutions, agencies and academia related with human rights and democratisation, most of them with relevant responsibilities. The E.MAlumni is an international network of Experts in Human Rights, Democratisation and related fields.
